Important Marine Mammal Areas (IMMAs)

Important Marine Mammal Areas (IMMAs) have been identified as high priority areas to facilitate decision-making by people and organisations that aim to conserve marine mammals. IMMAs are defined as discrete portions of habitat, important to marine mammal species, that have the potential to be delineated and managed for conservation.

There are 21 IMMAs with humpback dolphins as qualifying species and another 20 where they are supporting species. Here you can see where in the range all the IMMAs are where IO humpback dolphins are a qualifying species.
